Tell me, you westerners, do people there actually respect the age ratings?

Adults here would look at the rating and laugh at "silly americans" and have no problem with their 12 year old kid playing this game.

I respect the Age ratings. Everyone should, but few people do.

This game really isnt suitable for 12 year olds. But parents are very irresponsible nowadays.

Early access is sold out. So glad I got mine

I'm currently updating to toadays patch - 115 / 716 meg so far, then its ready to play at 5pm GMT on saturday.
There's another one after that I think, about 200meg. Either that or mine got interrupted.

All installed, slight hiccup as I got a black screen to start with, but I just unchecked 'fullscreen' from the settings tab in the launcher and could go in and set up all the options.

Wish there was some sort of 'character save to template' so you could do that prior to logging in and then just get on with it...

Yeah well games here are underestimated and still considdered childish.

My birthday is comming soon, when my older brother asked what i want as a gift, i mentioned AoC. He lol'd and said "its your 22 b-day and you want a game, grow up"
When i said its not for kids and has sexual content he looked at me like i was a pervert.

You're supposed to say it has extreme violence, gore, and general sadism.

Coming back to AoC...there's about 750MB worth of patches that you can download today if you've completed the download of the client.

*Accounts with more then one pre order key will be banned*

Oh Em Gee, WTF??? I failed

They tell us we cant do this now, AFTER already letting people activate several pre order bonuses on their accounts?

Can you post a link for that? I know a LOT of people who have more than 1 preorder key for their account.

I just read * Pre-orders on accounts that was later cancelled will have their keys/account disabled* which is ok for me.

Its the same thing, as that is the only way you can obtain several keys, by cancelling pre orders, unless you keep all three orders, but how are Funcom to know which order was cancelled and which one wasnt based on the keys on your account? Also, even if you legitimally keep 3 orders of the game for each bonus, each Pre order code is supposed to go on each sepperate account, not the same one. Although there was never any rule against doing this, so many people have added 2 or 3 pre order codes to the same account for several bonuses. Now they will just get banned lol.

The retailers say that Pre orders can be cancelled before they are charged for. They should have taken a non refundable fee of £5 / $10 off the cost of the game for the pre order game.

The problem is that the keys were limited to a certain number, and funcom dont like several being on the same account now. So they offered 3 different bonuses, and some people tried to get them all, so now their accounts will be banned.

I just wont be adding my retail key to my Pre order account, so its no biggie, I just lose any progress I make from the early access and dont get my bonuses anymore.

Yeah that depends on if Funcom knows what key was used to create an account, but I really hope they dont disable the account in those cases, just disable the items. Some of my friends got both the rhino and the mammoth codes, because the whole situation seemed like they were encouraging multiple codes.

Yes they can disable my key from Game, that is fair enough. But they cant disable my whole account just because I used two pre order keys! I dont care about losing my mammoth, I only wanted the early access. Just the Rhino is fine anyway, but Game promised to send out keys on the 10th may, thats why I ordered (and cancelled) from there, and I kept my play order bacause I deffinately want the Rhino.

I have Emailed funcom about this and will see what they say about it.

I think it means though that if you activate a Pre order key, and dont top up the account with a corressponding retail key, then you lose the items and the account. But as long as you have a pre order and retail key on the account, there isnt anything illegitimate about it.

I wanted to ride around on my Rhino while shooting things with the bow

I dont understand how this is a bannable offense.

Ok, much ado about nothing, here is funcoms reply to my question about this:

Quote:
Hi. I pre-ordered 3 copies of AoC and cancelled 2 as I wanted all three preorder bonuses, and have added all three keys to the same account.

I didnt know untill today that this can get my account banned when Tarib posted this on the forums:

*Pre-orders on accounts that was later cancelled will have their keys/account disabled*

I am keeping my order of the game that came with the Rhino and I was going to add the retail key to this account, but now I am fearing losing my retail key if my account gets banned for having three pre order keys.

What should I do about this? Should I create a new account when I get my retail copy, or just add it to my existing account and at least keep my Rhino that comes with it?

I dont mind losing my Bow and Mammoth as that is fair enough, but I do mind losing my account after adding my retail key.
Quote:
Ah I understand your concern. No you should be all set. Basically the
other two keys will simply disappear and your account will keep the one
valid on. Sorry about that.

So I will lose my bow, but get to keep my Rhino.

Arggg!

Ran outta HDD space. Had to delete my recovery partition. In the process of merging the two partitions now.

Cost £20 just so I could merge the two. Not as bad as the people who threw £500+ on upgrades and new PC's lol

I need to upgrade my laptop. New HDD, more RAM, and maybe Vista 64bit.

Not even installed the game yet, and then after that gotta patch it. Already well over my D/L limit for the month.

Edit - Opps that fcked up. No early access for me. Gotta reinstall everything, windows included. Joy.

A lot of people had performance problems in the beta but they were resolved towards the end. I haven't even decided what class or server type I'll end up playing. Probably going to try a few classes before settling on one.

The Guardian Tempest Seemed interesting. Pole Arms and Spears were my specialty in the Elder Scrolls series and it looks similar.

I'm assuming the attacks are a lot like the old Jedi games and Elder Scrolls. Anyone here a beta tester and can you say anything about how the movement feels?

I'm rolling Tempest of Set I think, and definitely a PVE server. I'm hoping there'll be an optional PVP flag lile in WoW as I like the odd dust up but not when it interfere's with questing etc.

If not, doesn't matter. At least this time I know I'm rolling on the same server as my other RL gaming friends.

Malice, gogogo you can still get in. I installed a new HDD and completely reformatted and reinstalled in a day last week!

It's funny to see this thread, it's the thread where GW players slowly transform into AoC players, slowly loosing their IQ and clothes, but getting bigger muscles and a much bigger appetite for blood
